Biography:
Beauty whether it exists in people, landscapes, or everyday objects surrounds us and engulfs us like an ocean. We can no more escape beauty than a fish can escape its watery home.  As an early student of photography, I attempted to document the visual splendor I saw around me using film, but since 2005 I have captured my subjects digitally using Canon digital SLRs. I shoot in color digitally and then I convert any work that I feel would look better in black and white into grayscale images using Adobe Photoshop. In the course of my work I have to decide on proper exposure, composition, lighting, color, and form. After I build the right composition in the viewfinder, I select the appropriate shutter speed and f/stop. Composition, I feel, is critical to creating beauty in the realm of photography.
I have always been a bit of a shy person, and earlier in my career I mostly shot landscapes. It has only been more recently that I have really immersed myself into people photography. I have since come to love portraiture, and since 2006 have mostly been documenting people as opposed to landscapes.
In my current work I am attempting to build on my past success shooting mostly landscapes. My current work is in the realm of people and event photography as well as in experimental work photographing shadow studies. My fascination with shadow has led me to create works with a heavy emphasis on this particular theme. I seek to challenge myself in the entire realm of photography to produce works that captivate and move the audience as well as flatter the subject. I specialize in capturing moments and this is critical when turning my eye towards event photography. I work moment to moment and take care to tell a story with my camera. Light is my paint and life is my canvas.
